Despite Sylvanian Families and Calico Critters being one of my special interests, I didn’t immediately rush to sign up for the premium fan club. The club is based in the UK and membership costs £20. I didn’t really feel like I needed another Freya.
I was completely wrong about this, as the special collector’s Freya looks great (she has a special fancy dress and purse that looks like they go along with the recently released boutique) and you can never have too many Freyas! There is an upcoming adventure for the Sylvanians in the works, and, if anything, this story requires MORE Freyas.
Here is what the box looked like when it arrived in the post:
If you have read this far, you can probably understand how thrilling it was to see the cheery Sylvanian Families logo!
Inside is Freya, who traveled comfortably and safely in a collectable box. Here she is! Apologies for the weird glare in this photo. I am 99.9% certain it is not a ghost.
This might horrify some people, but I can’t leave critters boxed up. I want to get them out and play with them! It’s very difficult to have adventures in a box, so the box is securely tucked away for safekeeping and Freya is free and ready for fun, even though I am slightly terrified of losing track of her purse.
This is what the inside of the box looks like:
Here is a close up photo of the fun little story about Freya’s special dress:
I really enjoyed how the story ties in with the Walnut Squirrels and the village boutique. Continuity makes me happy!
Also inside was a friendly welcome letter from Freya, detailing all the bonuses for joining the club:
I am so thrilled with this because I am an unabashed nerd and the critters really are my buddies. If you love Sylvanian Families and have hesitated to join the club, it really is very worthwhile. In addition, they have recently posted that club members will receive some extra gifts (calendar, tote bag, and keychain) with the November magazine package.
We have recently added some new critters and sets to our collection, so more pictures and stories to follow!
