Sylvanian Families: Giant Freya Chocolate

Today, a new friend joined our household, after traveling all the way from Germany!

Freya came to the door very politely and didn’t even ask us to collect her from the airport. Although, there does not appear to be an airport in Sylvania, so maybe she traveled by barge or airship.

Welcome home, Freya!  At first, she was rather shy, but Wajiii helped her inside, where she quickly began to feel at home.

The first stop was a trip to the kitchen to find some carrots!

After her long trip, Freya needed some time to relax.

Feeling revived and recuperated , Freya decided to check out the local music scene.

Then, Freya saw the Lil Woodzeez for the first time.  Awkward questions about alternative flocked animals followed.

Freya was very happy to catch up with her “big” sister Peppermint!

Peppermint: “WHY IS SHE SO BIG?!?!”

Next, we decided to spend some time playing with the Hotel! Freya carefully placed her sister on the roof so they could have a little chat, face-to-face.

Peppermint: “Someone is going to get me down, right? Seriously, there is no ladder…”

An impromptu celebratory Freya convention broke out.

When it was time to collect the post, we found that a  package containing NIB additional Thistlethorns had arrived! I’m not sure who was more excited at this point, me or Freya!

“What bathroom set is this?” – Freya

We then settled into look at some of our favorite websites. Freya spotted new items in the coming soon section on the London Sylvanian Shop! She was feeling very much at home at this point; she even found all the best snacks!

Me: “[looking at package of biscuits] Freya, that’s not a carrot.”
Freya: “Um; it’s orange, isn’t it?”
Me: “That sounds reasonable.”

And, of course, we had to visit the forums.

I feel very privileged to have acquired a Giant Freya! They can be hard to come by, as they are used for displays in stores and not for sale. It’s my understanding that Giant Freyas only become available when they are not returned to Epoch after being used for display purposes. They then sometimes make their way to Ebay.

Amazingly, she is just like a regular sized Sylvanian, with movable arms and legs. Her joints are a bit stiff, and I’m being very cautious with posing her.  She’s even got a big fluffy bunny tail.  We are very happy to welcome Freya home and looking forward to many future adventures!

  2. Congrats on getting the giant Freya! Now you need a 30 cm Freya to complete the collection of Freyas! Oh, if you ever get tired of Giant Freya, let me know and I would be very happy to drive up to collect her. 😉

    1. Thanks! I don’t think we’ll ever tire of her, no matter how many snacks she consumes 🙂 But, you can drive up and visit her (and us)! I would love to find a 30 cm Freya, but based on what I see on ebay, they seem harder to find than Giant Freya. Or, maybe I’m not looking in the right places.

  3. I read the post after this one first, coming directly from the forum, the one where you got the package from the UK, and couldn’t understand the monster Freya looming over the parcel! Thought maybe you’d photoshopped the pic or something, thinking that was one scary rabbit! This post explains it all 🙂 The bathroom set is funny 🙂 You have an old turntable and speakers? My husband collects old hi-fi and speakers, amongst other retro things 🙂

    1. Giant Freya must have seemed very odd! 🙂 The Giant Sylvanians are used in displays in stores and sometimes they then make their way to ebay. She is HUGE. I am a big fan of albums on vinyl 🙂 Our turntable is fairly new, but it would be fun to put together a vintage system someday.

  4. Hello, It’s very nice pictures of the giant Freya! May I ask if your Freya has any ‘anything ‘ inside that make it like a rattle? Coz mine does! And I wonder what they are?!

    1. Hi and thank you! I’ve never noticed any rattling bits. Maybe it could be some plastic? That does sound odd!

  5. Hi there! I love this rabbit very much! May I know where and how to buy this giant rabbit? Really want to have it at my Home too. Very appreacite your advice. Thx a lot!

    1. Hi Miranda! Unfortunately, Giant Freya is a quite hard to find. However, every so often, you will see one for sale on ebay. The best thing to do is to check ebay on a regular basis. You may want to watch the Japanese auctions as well. I hope you have good luck and find one soon!
